Join the Fight against Nasty Wood
Nasty Wood is our term for wood products that are either harvested unsustainably, or treated with preservatives that pose a significant risk to people and the environment.
Like Pamela Anderson fully clothed, Nasty Wood can be difficult to identify. Even in today’s “green conscious” environment it can found lurking about in timber merchants. It’s time to do something about it.
- Wood harvested from unsustainable sources damages ecosystems permanently. Insist on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified wood products.
- Chemically treated wood can leach into the environment, and can be toxic to humans especially when burned. Insist on low toxicity wood products.
We believe Nasty Wood should be banished all together – and replaced with truly sustainable wood.
Let’s get happy.
