This year Abodo celebrates 20 years of carefully crafting timber.
Established by the Gudsell family 20 years ago, Abodo remains a New Zealand-owned, family business with a purpose - to craft timbers with lasting beauty that are safe for people and the environment.
Founder and managing director, Daniel Gudsell says he is “grateful to think back to Abodo’s beginnings in a humble office, to what it has grown to today with a team of 70+ people, two growing manufacturing facilities in New Zealand, an award-winning Cardrona Showroom cabin, and an operation now spanning markets across the globe in New Zealand, Australia, South Pacific, UK, Europe, US, Canada and Asia.
It is heartening to know Abodo is creating products that resonate with customers in these markets who are looking to be part of a change to durable and safe timbers with lasting beauty made from rapidly renewable sources. These products then store carbon over a building’s lifespan – all without sacrificing old-growth trees.
We are only just beginning on our journey, expect more from Abodo in the future.”
With exciting plans and projects ahead of us, it is fair to say our 20th year has been a challenging year, but one that has driven us to improve the way we do things, so we can serve our customers better.
We made a point of celebrating the milestone with the Abodo team, despite the challenges of the last few years.
Thanks for being part of our journey this far and hope to see you with us over the next 20.
Whakawhetai koe!
