Abodo was proud to be part of the first New Zealand Pavilion at Design Show Australia, with visitors to our stand going in the draw for a Cardrona Cabin Stay.
Held on June 13-15, the 2024 Design Show Australia was a huge success, with over 10,000 visitors coming through the doors of the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Sydney across the three days. Many of these trade visitors made a stop at the New Zealand Pavilion and put a hopeful entry into our giveaway for a two night stay at the Cardrona Cabin, which included a Flight Centre gift card and dining vouchers for the iconic Cardrona Hotel.
Today, we are pleased to announce the winner of this stay: Arwen Sachinwalla of Studio_P Architecture & Interiors. Congratulations – we just know that you will love your time at our carefully crafted cabin in the beautiful Cardrona valley!
The New Zealand Pavilion was a huge success, with local media applauding our efforts in showcasing Aotearoa New Zealand design and build brands. The Pavilion was created from Abodo timber, making it an eye-catching showcase of our products and backdrop for our fellow attendees. We would like to extend our thanks to New Zealand Trade and Enterprise for their support, James McNabb for the design, and to Patrick Holcombe of Douglas Fir Design, who brought the pavilion to life in Sydney.
There was an authentic sense of camaraderie at the Show among the other innovative local manufacturers on display, including Wilson & Dorset, Baya, Floc, CS Cavity Sliders, Stoked Stainless, Fastmount, and Felton. Some of these brands also incorporated Abodo timber into their stands, such as CS Cavity Sliders who used our timber as door reveals, Floc who created a sign etched into our timber, and Stoked Stainless who used our decking for their hot tub surrounds.
We look forward to continuing the conversations and connections made at the event! For those who couldn’t make it – or who would like to reminisce on a great event – check out this video captured by The Local Project.
