Abodo Wood has been announced a finalist in this year’s New Zealand Green Ribbon Awards.
The Green Ribbon Awards recognise the outstanding contributions of individuals, organisations, businesses and communities to protecting and enhancing New Zealand’s environment. The awards are organised by the Ministry for the Environment.
Abodo is a finalist in the “Green Economy” category – reflecting Abodo’s work in sustainable wood products, and “green” wood processing technology – such as thermal modification and water borne azole preservatives.
Abodo’s focus has been to reduce New Zealand’s dependence on chemically preserved woods, and imported woods of dubious sustainability.
The judges took particular interest in Vulcan Cladding, Abodo’s preservative-free, high performance timber weatherboard.
Vulcan Cladding is thermally stabilised using high temperatures – a process that drives extractives and resins from New Zealand Radiata Pine, rendering it more stable, and naturally durable.
Vulcan is a beautifully natural product, and an ideal alternative to imported species such as Western Red Cedar. The awards ceremony will be held in on 16th of June in Wellington.
Good luck to all finalists (but especially us).
Abodo are pleased to announce the appointment of Stevens & Co as an architectural cladding distribution partner in Belgium.
Many wish to reduce their environmental impact when building, and Abodo’s newest addition to the Vulcan Cladding range helps achieve this.
