In a partnership offering a wider choice for customers, Vulcan timber is now available from RK Timbers, as well as from Abodo in New Zealand.
Founded in the 1930s as Rosenfeld Kidson, RK Timbers initially imported much-needed Australian hardwoods for infrastructure builds in New Zealand’s post-depression era. Over its nearly 100 years in business, the company has developed into architectural timber specialists, supplying many avenues of the construction industry from flooring contractors to cabinetmakers.
With their solid reputation as a source for innovative products and cladding systems, we are confident Abodo will be well placed among the RK Timbers range.
“We are really pleased to have RK Timbers as a new distributor partner for Abodo’s Vulcan timber,” says National Sales and Specification Manager, Sarah Buckley.
“Their dedication to craftsmanship aligns nicely with Abodo’s values and their strong reputation within high end architecture allows more exposure to locally grown, rapidly renewable timber.”
Operating from Mt Wellington and Papakura in Auckland, and Hornby in Christchurch, the company supplies both North and South Island contractors. Now with Abodo added to their offering, this will expand possibilities for greater use of innovative and sustainably minded projects across the country.
“As with the fantastic team at Abodo, the inherent qualities and creative potential provided by timber have always inspired us and driven innovation at RK Timbers,” says Managing Director Mark Liggins.
“We are very excited to have the opportunity to grow Abodo use in New Zealand, and we love the quality that Abodo offers in a locally grown and manufactured product.”
