The 2014 Air New Zealand Cargo Export New Zealand Awards were held last week in Auckland. The awards, designed to recognise New Zealand’s leading exporters, featured a range of innovative companies judged across seven categories.
“Many kiwis will be overawed at the world-class talent on display, the capabilities of our people, and their thriving, exciting businesses” said convener of judges Barry Squires, Head of International Business for Westpac Institutional Bank.
Abodo Wood was judged a finalist in the Commercialisation of Innovation for Export category, along with 4 other finalists.
Abodo’s unique intellectual property is the application of wood modification and preservation technology to plantation grown New Zealand pine – creating stable, beautiful and durable wood.
Abodo’s unique decking and cladding products are exported to over 30 countries worldwide. Judges were impressed with the application of technology to sustainably grown New Zealand wood.
The supreme winner will be announced at a gala dinner event on the 12th June, 2014.
